Fine pair of antique imperial Russian photographs of students posing at the The Imperial Alexander Lyceum circa 1911. It was founded, by Tsar Alexander I, with the object of educating youths of the best families, who should afterwards. occupy important posts in the Imperial service. It was located on Kammenostrovsky Prospekt, in St Petersburg. The first photo shows students seated in front of the portrait of Tsar Alexander I by Ershov, whilst the other show students in one of their classrooms posing underneath another portrait of Tsar Alexander I.
